Buy the right channel package
The A229 Pro family has multiple versions. This page concerns the two-channel front-and-rear configuration. Confirm both cameras and the connecting cable are included; a similarly named single-channel listing does not offer the same coverage.
Winter use needs realistic expectations
VIOFO specifies a lower operating limit of -20°C. That is not a guarantee of operation in a car cold-soaked below that temperature, nor proof that every moving plate will be readable at night. Resolution is only one input to the resulting footage.
Plan installation and ownership
Check memory-card compatibility, recording retention and how to export a clip before relying on the camera. Parking recording requires an appropriate power arrangement and battery-protection settings; have wiring routed safely around airbags by a competent installer. We have not conducted comparative video or cold-start tests. Consider whether you need rear coverage enough to justify the installation work.
