Decide whether you are buying a project or a finished decoration

The Poinsettia is most relevant when building is part of the appeal. If you need a ready-made centrepiece immediately before guests arrive, account for assembly rather than treating the box as a finished ornament. For a gift, ask whether the recipient enjoys construction sets and has somewhere to display the result. A familiar Christmas colour scheme does not automatically make it the right present.
